Under the slogan "Health for All", the WHO office in Cairo will organize a celebration and a seminar on World Health Day next Wednesday at the headquarters of the Organization in Nasr City.
A panel discussion on health coverage for the poor, marginalized and refugees in the Arab world is scheduled to be held during the panel discussion by senior experts and leaders in the field of public health.
This year's World Health Day slogan is "Comprehensive health coverage: for everyone and everywhere".
"Comprehensive health coverage is a fundamental human right," Dr. Jawad Al-Mahjour, director of the World Health Organization for the Eastern Mediterranean Region, said in a press release.
"Ensuring the right to health for all and comprehensive health coverage are two sides of a single coin, the motivation for the work of the Organization since its inception."
This year's World Health Day coincides with the 70th anniversary of the World Health Organization and the 40th anniversary of the Alma-Ata Conference on Primary Health Care.
